Navigation is the basis of every great and safe day on the mountains, once you are familiar with the basics you can even plan your own walk for an extra sense of achievement and so that you don't even need to search for one. There are many types of navigation, some of which can be complicated. As a result the following pages are dedicated to basic navigation that you should be familiar with by the time you start hiking. Definition: Attack Point. You divide a walk into attack points to make it possible to navigate through out. These attack points are usually on straight lines which makes it possible to take a bearing between the two.
